Award winning, abstract painter, Michele Renee Sherlock, (b.1964,Ohio,USA) has lived in three of the largest cities in the U.S., New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Her artistic influences began in her early 20's when she moved to New York City and developed a love of cultural identity, art museums, architecture, and international travel. Sherlock's travels have taken her to Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and almost every state in the U.S.  During these travels, Sherlock immersed herself in the local culture, observing how the people in the area viewed art, design, and personal interaction. "My paintings are a collaboration between lived experience and observation of cultural norms around the world". Sherlock has studied abstract composition, collage, and intuitive painting theory in the U.S.  Michele had the opportunity to study color theory in Sauveterre-de-Bearn, France along with her exhibition in Paris in October, 2023. Michele has artwork in private and corporate collections throughout the U.S. Currently, Michele enjoys working in her studio in the Zhou B Art Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
